The legal notice in your galleries and the reporting channel
The footer of every gallery, your profile page and every snap-in carries the links “Legal notice” and “Report content”. Under Account you add your legal notice as a link or as text; reports about your content are reviewed within 72 hours.

What the footer shows and why #
Below every gallery, on your profile page and below every snap-in there are two small links: “Legal notice” and “Report content”. They stay even when you have removed the aftersnap branding. The branding is a matter of taste, these two links are a duty: whoever shows photos publicly has to say who is responsible for them, and we as the provider have to offer a way to report unlawful content.
The “Legal notice” link opens a page in the guest’s language. It names you as the responsible person, shows your legal notice and notes that aftersnap only provides the storage and the technology.
Adding your legal notice #
Account Legal notice
- Under “Link to your legal notice” enter the address of the legal notice page on your website, without “https://”.
- If you have no website, write the legal notice into the text field below instead: name, address, contact details, for companies the representative and register details.
- Click “Save legal notice”.
One of the two is enough. If you enter both, the page shows the text and the link below it.
Open one of your galleries and click “Legal notice” at the bottom. Your entry has to appear there. While nothing is added, only your name is shown together with a note that no legal notice exists yet.
What happens when someone reports content #
Via “Report content” any guest can report a photo or a gallery: for copyright, personal rights or another reason, with an explanation, a name and an email address. The reporting person confirms that the information is accurate.
Nothing happens when a report arrives. Your photos stay online until we have reviewed the report. We do that within 72 hours.
If we consider a report justified, we hide the photos concerned or take the gallery offline. You receive an email with our reasons. Hidden photos appear in your gallery as invisible, but you cannot show them again yourself; a blocked gallery shows a red notice at the top. Reply to the email if you want to object, and we will review the case again.
If we reject a report, you will not hear about it. Your gallery was never affected.
- A photo cannot be shown again, the switch answers with a message.
- The photo was blocked by us after a reviewed report. The reasons are in the email we sent you. Reply to it if you can prove your usage rights.
- The gallery cannot be published, the top shows “Blocked by aftersnap”.
- Same cause: a reviewed report. We lift the block as soon as the case is settled.
