Designing slides

Slide 1 gets the first photo full-bleed: it is the one in the profile grid and has to work on its own. The other photos go onto building blocks across two or three slides, in which photos run across the border into the next slide.

What comes out is a proposal. Every frame can be moved, resized and cropped as in the photo book.

The borders between slides show as dashed lines in the editor, and frames snap to them. When a photo runs across a border, at least 15 percent of a slide width stays on each side; a thinner sliver looks like a mistake in the single view.

Text fields always stay on one slide. A word cut in two cannot be read in any single view.

When a border runs through a face, the frame gets the mark “Face”, and the “Export slides” window names the spot. You can still export.

The building blocks are on the right. A click appends slides with empty frames; nothing is replaced.

“Aa” appends a text slide: a colour area with text. You set colour, font, size and alignment at the top, and the text can have several lines.

“@” appends the team slide. You choose from the confirmed vendors in your network, with the ones preselected that have access to one of the chosen galleries. Each line names the trade and the Instagram handle; without a handle, the company name is shown.

The Instagram profile shows every slide in 3:4. On the title slide, hatching marks what is cut off on the left and right. Below the strip, “In the profile” shows the title slide the way it sits in the grid.
