- You know your mail provider SMTP details: host, port, username and password.
Why the access is needed #
Ab Tarif Pro Tarife ansehenEmails carrying your gallery link go to your clients, with your name as the sender. So that they arrive and are not treated as a forgery, aftersnap sends them through your own mailbox.
While no access is stored, sending from inside aftersnap stays blocked. Copying the link and sending it yourself always works.
Entering your SMTP access #

- Enter “SMTP Host”, for example smtp.example.com.
- Enter “Port”, “Username” and the password.
- Pick the value your provider gives you under “Encryption”. TLS over STARTTLS is the recommended route.
- Enter “From Name” and “From Email”. These two are what your clients see.
- Click “Save”.
The password field stays empty after saving. Empty means unchanged; only a new entry replaces the stored password.
The sender address has to belong to the mailbox whose access you enter here. Most recipients drop a foreign sender address into spam.

- Enter an address you can look into in the test email field.
- Click “Send Test”.
“Sent” with a checkmark has to appear next to the button, and the email has to be in the mailbox. If it says “Error”, one of the access values is wrong.
- The test reports an error.
- Check port and encryption together: 587 goes with TLS over STARTTLS, 465 with SSL. If the two do not match, the connection breaks off.
- The provider rejects the login.
- Many providers want a separate app password for programs instead of your normal one. Create one and enter it here.
- The test email lands in spam.
- Check that the sender address and the mailbox belong together. With your own domain, SPF and DKIM belong in your provider settings.
